There was also a guy working with her and he was being rude bc she would ask him questions and he would answer them, then walk away instead of staying with her and teaching her the proper procedures. The staff was very friendly and eager to answer all my questions. In addition the staff was very knowledgeable to answer the questions. The only thing that I saw needed improvement was the doctors bedside manner. He did not come across very approachable. He dI'd not smile once. He didn't do or say anything negative however he just didn't seem happy to be there.

I selected my on frames with zero input from the optician. When I finally asked about frames sizes and progressive lenses, she was extremely unknowledgeable. After completing my exam and checking out, I requested a quote for lenses as I had only been offered a quote for frames (she did not take off my insurance contribution) and I could hear the argument ensue in "the back" as to why I would want an estimate. When Tia (The Optician) came out she was rude and when I told her I had been prescribed progressive lenses , she said "they range from $105-175. When I asked the differences, she stated "greater channels". When I asked for a brochure or way to get more information, I was told "we don't provide any written information". As a healthcare provider and small business owner, I would suspect durable medical equipment, i.e. glasses, would be a major part of the business plan. I would not buy from Tia or Felicia if it was the best price. In todays environment of local and internet competition, I like to support local, but my experience with these two opticians was unsatisfactory. I expected to walk out with a written estimate (based on my insurance) with the options for lenses and the benefits to the upgrades.Mostly Satisfied9

I only put mostly satisfied because the clinicians and front staff were great. I will not recommend my acquaintances to use the retail portion of your business as long as that is the customer service to be expected. We are treated 100 times better by Target Opticians! I expected more!

Dr. Hines and the office staff were great, very friendly. Dr. Hines really took her time and explained things to us and made us feel very important. Josh who helped us in the optical department was not very helpful in giving me the answers I needed regarding prices and options for our glasses and contacts were are considering. It wasn't that he wasn't nice but I had to pull every bit of info I needed out of him and I still didn't feel like I got the info I needed. Everything else was great though.

I felt like I was bothering the associate with questions about my options with my insurance. I couldn't leave my glasses that day so I returned the following morning. A different associate had to assist me and again I felt as though she didn't want to take the time with me. I had the best experience last year. I'm hoping my lenses come in correct. At this point I don't have a lot of confidence. It might be my fault the next morning when I went in, because I had no information other than the couple questions I'd been asked and price quoted from the previous day. I guess no information had been entered in the computer, the associate I spoke with wasn't there the following morning and the associate helping me didn't seem to want to. Anyway, my experience this year was not one that makes me want to be sure to return next year. I'll use the doctor, I liked her. I'll take my prescription and go elsewhere.Mostly Satisfied5
Better communication. In the event another associate has to help you, there should be info in the computer to assist them. If there's not information, then the associate should start from scratch and not act like they would be so happy for the other associate to show up and take over.

I am on Medicare and cannot afford the extreme prices of the glasses. it would benefit me and others that are on low incomes to have the ability of purchasing lens and frames at a lower price comparable to the many other companies around the Huntsville area.

My kids have been going to the same eye doctor since the age of 5....today, we weren't greeted, when we was asked to fill out paperwork, the receptionist tone was unfriendly and very rude, as we proceeded to be seated, she made a sigh sound, my daughter said mom what's wrong with her...I turned around and said give me my id and insurance cards back, I don't like your attitude, mind you , she ain't act surprised, another Lady said oh no she wasn't referring to you she was mad bout some else....first of all she being mad about anything, I should have not saw or heard the attitude. I'm a patient, a customer....Primary Eye Care Associates (Vaughn Rd location) just lost a patient for over 10 years! Now I'm looking for another doctor for my kids.

When I entered the doctors office absolutely no one greeted me or acknowledged that I came in. I had to ask who i needed to talk to. I think your front desk staff could improve on greeting clients and making them feel welcome and wanted at this location.

Felt very rushed and Doctor wasn't very friendly! As she was looking in my eyes..the nurse was telling me prices and lens and I couldn't focus! Also decided to dialate my eyes without even asking. Didn't have a very good feeling while there and was very rushed while doctor was in the room! Not very personable at all! More than likely won't be back to office and will probably order contacts elsewhere. At checkout, was shocked as to how much I had to pay, insurance wasn't explained to me beforehand. I would have opted out of different things if I knew how much it was going to be. Very disappointed.

I waited about 30 minutes in the lobby. The technician did apologize, stating that they were short-staffed. I work as clinical staff at a dental office. When I am running late, the receptionist approaches my patient in the lobby, explains that I'm running late and offers them water, coffee, tea, or even a paraffin hand dip. Maybe you guys could at least explain to patients that you are running about x number of minutes behind. That way we are at least informed and could even run an errand if we need to.

While I was there, the Optometrist was very rude to me until she found out I had insurance. It was very uncomfortable up until that point, and there was a definite switch when she learned I had insurance. I hope no one encounters this bias again. It was inappropriate, and it is for this reason that I will not return. In addition, I will be informing my EVERYONE I know not to go to an Eyecare Associates, especially in Madison, Alabama.

Exam - very satisfied. Frames - very satisfied. Doctor and Optical One staff - very satisfied. Lenses provided - worst I've had in my entire life. Have gone through three attempts so far to get my progressive prescription right and it is still giving me headaches. Casey Cooper at Optical One is great and I've been doing business with him for 15+ years. But unless the lab can get this prescription right, I may not be able to do business with ECA in the future. In my opinion, it must be the lab improperly manufacturing the lenses. My impression is that the lab technicians must not know how to operate their machinery correctly. At least one set of lenses had such a serious defect that I couldn't wear them at all. I will not go into further detail here but can and will if contacted. I anticipate submitting a consumer complaint, and am seeking an independent lab to confirm my suspicions regarding the quality of workmanship of the lenses I've been delivered (repeatedly). I find it unfortunate that poor lab quality may result in my no longer being able to do business with you in the future.

The front desk staff seemed unprofessional, there was a lot of gossip going on. When I was asked to give my license and insurance, as well as, update my patient information, the woman continued to hold a conversation with her coworker and didn't even look in my direction to hand me the paperwork. I had to reach behind the desk to grab it out of her hand because she was so involved in this conversation that she didn't realize she had shorted me. Also when calling to make my appointment for this visit, I was asked what my symptoms were and I was constantly cut off before I could finish answering. She didn't listen and seemed very anxious to get off the phone with me and get me scheduled for the type of appointment she thought I needed, which I later found out, was not correct. She would've known that had she listened, instead of putting words into my mouth. The day of my appointment I was called before I arrived and was asked what I had made the appointment for, CJ explained there were no notes written from the first time I called to make it. CJ was great and listened to everything I had to say, he didn't interrupt, and asked plenty of questions about my symptoms. He was also the tech who assisted me and he did a great job. The front desk staff could learn a lot from him. I work in a professional healthcare office and I strongly believe the front desk needs to be re-trained on how to take patient phone calls correctly, how to properly greet patients and give them their full attention, and how to keep gossip out of earshot of the patient. I was altogether shocked that this was how they behaved in front of patients.

I only had a problem with the billing clerk at the end of my appointment. I was trying to inform her of the monies allotted from my insurance plan to pay for my exam and part of my contacts. I ended up paying all cost out of pocket and not being able to order my contacts due to that cost. I did not have this problem at my previous appointment, and when I asked why it was so much this time, I got no explanation.

I was about 5 minutes early for my appointment and had to sit in the waiting room for about 50 minutes before I was taken back. Once I was taken back to the room the assistant was very efficient and the doctor came in very quickly. The doctor was wonderful and I would recommend ECA b/c of that, but I would also warn my friends and family that they may be there for a long while in the waiting room.

I was forgotten in the waiting room. I have been a patient for a very long time and there was a time that my visit, from entry to exit, took less than an hour. I understand that not being possible, but there was only one other person in the waiting room during my entire 45 minute wait. My appointment was at 3:30. I arrived at 3:25 and and left at 5:20. I find that to be very poor service. I also didn't find the office staff's gossip very professional. Being forgotten in the waiting room apparently means talking freely about other patients, among other things. Very unprofessional. I have worked in health care on and off for 10+ years and I know what goes on in a doctor's office. I also know what is and isn't appropriate behind the desk. This was not a good visit, staff wise. I was referred to Dr. St. Peter by my friend, Maria Ardal. I had previously gone to Schaffer Eye Center near Target on Hwy 72 and did not have a good experience. Dr. St. Peter was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. Also, I don't remember the woman's name who took me in the room first but she was also extremely helpful and friendly. I liked the tech that did all of the preliminary tests before the doctor's examination. He was professional and personable and is an asset to your company. I wish I remembered his name, but I think he is the only male tech at the Prattville office. The doctor wasn't in the exam room for even 5 minutes. He is nice, but you get the impression he is in a hurry.

I like going here, but I won't be coming back if I will keep being billed $85 for a "contact lens fitting" for them to tell me my contact prescription is the same. I've been wearing the same brand and prescription for a long time. I come in to ensure I'm not developing any diseases. That being said, Dr. Harris and staff are all very friendly. I don't like the frame dispensary being in with a doctor's office. I would call it a conflict of interest in that it makes you feel somewhat compelled to purchase there. Especially if it is mentioned by the doctor or an employee. I thought my prescription would be handed to me at check out. Instead, I was given a receipt for my payment, thanked, then I had to ask for the prescription because I said I had already looked at their frames and might come back. It's only fair that people should be allowed to check other places without feeling pressured into buying there.

At checkout, I feel I always have to be very well informed about my costs, insurance, etc. I was told my cost was $104 which was more than I expected with my insurance. When I asked for the details, I was indeed being charged for something my insurance covers. Should have only been $70. This isn't first time this has happened. If I had paid the $104 I doubt I would have ever known I had overpaid.

We were in the waiting room for 52 minutes, and I was about to walk out because of the wait time alone. By the time the doctor actually came in to see us, it was 5:00. Our appointment was at 3:30. None of the staff ever apologized for, or even acknowledged, our wait. And this isn't the only time we've had this problem. I brought my other son for his appointment 2 weeks earlier and we ran into the same thing. His appointment was at 4, and we didn't walk out of the office until 6. Neither appointment did we pick out frames (which I know takes a while).

I saw a different doctor other than my regular doctor, as my regular doctor was off. Because I had already taken time away from work, I chose to see a new doctor rather than reschedule. However, I prefer to go back to my regular doctor because I have a history with her. The original appointment was made a year prior. I wish I had been given more time to reschedule. Overall, very pleased with ECA.

I would NEVER complain about the wait time.....The customer service, efficiency, professionalism, courtesy of staff is excellent ------and brilliance, patient care and competency of Dr. Skoney is so worth any wait....and I'd rather Eye Care be a little late on appts than change anything else...Would not have mentioned the wait time.....but survey wouldn't let me omit the question and submit the survey. Dr. Skoney gives the amount of time as needed during my appointment....and some appts may take a bit longer than another...so...,the wait time is a time that I would never complain about....

I feel the level of care is insufficient for our family. Everyone at EyeCare Associates in Tuscaloosa, AL did a great job, from there cheerful welcome when I enter their office until I left when my exam and eye glass fitting was done. Dr. Corley did an excellent job with her in depth explanation of my eye exam to make sure I understood what she did and why she did it. I was advise during my eye exam that I could use a contact lenses/glasses that was less in power than a previous prescription. I tried the contact for 3 days but had a very had time with my vision so I contacted the location to advise them. The doctor asked me to try them again, which I did and still had the same results. During my first visit I ordered a pair a glasses as well due to I was under the impression that I no longer needed a power as strong as the one that I was currently wearing. When I went back to return the contacts and advise the staff that I no longer needed the glasses because they wouldn't work for me, I was advise that I could not cancel the order for the glasses. I am very dissatisfied with the staff and service. I want a refund back for the glasses because I will not need the glasses with the lesser power.

This was one of my best visits, right up to the point I was about to leave. I had a terrible headache, I'm guessing from the eye drops. That is completely understandable; however, the girl that took my payment, was a little annoying. We were ready to leave and told her we weren't interested in looking at frames, but she insisted that we look at some new frame that just came in that day. We truly didn't care, but to not be rude, were walked over and looked. It was a $429.00 frame. It's one thing if we're ask, but it's another when we say no, then have one of three most expensive items in the store handed to us. I'm not upset or angry, but it would have been better to just let us leave. I only included this information in this survey because it asked for comments. I'm sure the girl meant well, but caught me at the wrong time.

I have been seeing Dr. Sullins for quite some time, ten years or more, and have gotten all of my glasses from you. The Doctor totally missed that I had yellow cataracts in both eyes, and kept prescribing me glasses that would not fix my issues. I went to another Dr. and had surgery to replace both lenses. I came back to get new lenses with my new prescription and have waited over two weeks for new glasses. I have been told that it is a lab issue, that they have sent them to a new lab, and that the holidays slowed down the production. This is the last time that I will be visiting your office, for exams or glasses.

I have been to the office three time and still have not gotten a prescription. Each time it is the wrong prescription. I havr also had to come back for appointments because contacts were not in stock. I do nit have astigmatism and have a common prescription. Further, I have been charged $300, to still not have a contact prescription. I would have been much better off to simply go to lens crafters or a similar office that can find my prescription, has it in stock, and does not charge $300.

When you first walk in the girls at the front aren't very friendly or personal. I work at a Drs office and that's one of the main things we focus on. They just come off rude and very uninviting. Other than that, the rest was a breeze.

When I called prior to the appointment, I asked them to set my expectations about out of pocket costs. Those expectations and reality weren't very close. I feel the "benefit explanation" was focused on maximizing revenue to ECA regardless of prescription length for contacts (are they good for a week, 2 weeks or a month - as recommended!!!). The staff and doc were great. However, b/c of this benefit experience, I won't be going back.

I completed paperwork online. Arrived 10 minutes before appt. None of the 3 ladies in office would acknowledge me. 20 minutes past my appt.time passed. I went to window to inquire how much longer. Patients without appts. we're going ahead of me. They were stopping by to pick up glasses. Same lady talking and waiting on them was supposed to be processing my paperwork. I realized that one person I thought was a patient was an employee looking at frames instead of working in the office. She stood around and did nothing, but offered excuses why many of us were waiting. The office staff is slow and needs to be updated and more efficient.

The person who did the beginning of my exam (not the DR) was also the person that greeted me at the front door. The greeting was not overly welcoming, it almost felt as if I was bothering her by being there. She seemed friendlier once she brought me back to the back. The two ladies who were actually working the front desk were very nice!

Everything is great until it comes time to deal with the billing. The accounting staff is either overworked or incompetent. Called them 5 times and left 2 messages on the 20th of December. Called 3 times and left a message on 21st. Gave up and called doctor's office in Montgomery directly. Waiting on a return call now. Went to doctor in July and just received notice that they are having some issues with the bill 5 months later with no explanation. With what we pay in insurance, and having dual coverage, one would think they could get this right.

Despite the fact that my visit was quick and easy, I was unsatisfied with the wait time to be seen (35 min) and very unsatisfied that I paid for a contact exam that didn't really happen. Yes, my contacts fit and I like them, but I don't see why I needed to pay $85 (much more than I'm used to paying) when I didn't even put in my contacts or have them checked. I needed a new prescription, but I don't think I should have paid for the exam.

I was rather unsatisfied with how the front office staff handled my insurance. My primary medical plan covers an annual eye exam with no copay and I was told the best route was to go with VSP instead. It was unfortunate that the staff was not comprehensive in their research of my preferred plan.

Not satisfied with your online appointment process. It asks for insurance, but (1) doesn't accommodate more than one; (2) How am I supposed to know the difference between the two cryptic Medicare options in your very long list? It also looked like you asked for a bunch of (unsecured) privacy information without explaining why you think you needed it transmitted in the clear. Disappointed. I will have to call for my next appointment, and I want nothing to do with your "web portal" in its present state.

Wait times upon arrival. My appointment was at 3:00 so my husband and I left work to get there at 3:00. I was not seen until almost 4:00. We left the office just before 5:00, and I didn't even need or order glasses. However, I love Dr. Amos and the staff. I hate taking time from work and waiting though.

Love Dr. Wolf. She is never rushed and I always feel she is providing me excellent care. Her assistant, Jennifer, is friendly, knowledgeable, caring and most helpful. I just love the employees and how they genuinely make me feel welcome and they also assist me in any way they can. I know I probably drive them crazy with my problem selecting a frame, but they still keep trying unless I need a break. Sometimes I come back on a different day and select then. It worked last visit.

Dr. Alverson is great and the staff is ok. The excessive cost of the exam ($195) is the reason I will not be returning to this clinic. Last year my exam cost with Dr. Alverson was $158.95 which was more than I paid for my previous eye exam. My husband goes to another clinic and had a more comprehensive exam for only $99.

Communication! I had an appointment on Jan 5th, today is Feb 2nd and I still do not have my glasses. I have to call and follow up, no one fro the office calls me to update on delays. the office staff kept telling me it takes 5-10 business days to get the order in, only after 3 weeks and repeated calls from me did they reach out to lab to find out my frames had been back ordered. then when I call today and speak with the office manager she states that the lab is working on my glasses today due to the lenses were broken, and I will hopefully have them on feb 6th. when I asked about a discount or compensation she stated the office has no way to help me, these things are common and out of their hands. Really???? so calling and updating the patient on delays.

When I made the appointment over the phone last week, whomever I spoke with asked me my opinion of "what was going on in the White House." What do politics have to do with my eye exam? For the record, I explained that I am a retired military veteran and former member of law enforcement and I thought/still think that Donald Trump was the biggest idiot to ever occupy the Oval Office. She asked. My appointment was for 10:10 on Monday, 2/6/2017. I arrived at 10:13. It was my first time there and my GPS was off by a half a county block. I waited from 10:13 to 1049 in the waiting room before I was seen. The assistant who called me from the waiting room was leaning against the hallway wall, chewing gum and looking completely disinterested when she called my name. When I got to her, she said, "Come with me" and escorted me to the exam room. She did not introduce herself, did not wear a name tag and her attitude reminded me of a teenage girl who was stuck babysitting her younger brother. She chewed gum loudly during the entire exam. She seemed proficient at her job, but she was rude. Dr. Jackson was great. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly. He deserves to be in a better, more professional office than the one at 8436 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL. When my exam was done and I was escorted to the front desk, the lady behind the front desk who rang up my bill (I didn't look at her name tag) greeted me with the most lackluster "How are you doing" I've heard in years. She sounded like she was being forced to be polite to me and that she wasn't afraid to show me how uninterested she was in how I was doing. I commented to her that everybody in the office who I dealt with (excluding Dr. Jackson and the 2nd assistant who was in the exam room with him) was treating me like I was a bad guy, but that in fact I was a nice guy. She gave me a wan smile and was mildly more personable. I'm a pretty laid back person. I was quiet, nice, didn't complain or cause any issue during my visit, but... I am never going back. Not to that office and not to any office run by your company. Thanks for the survey. Saves me making a phone call.

There is always a long wait time for an appointment. Too many folks are scheduled at the same time.this has happened the last two years at my appt. Since I am taking off from work to come to the appointment-- it would be better to not have a thirty - 40 minute wait before any of the prep work begins. I also waited 30 minutes then to pick up my contacts. I really like dr hammonds -- and the staff did a good job, but I felt like you should know that there is this area of improvement needed. Time is important to everyone!

Wait time!!! I waited 40 minutes before I was called back for my appointment. Before any thing started. Too long-- time is really valuable. Then I waited for 30 minutes before I was called back to pick up and have my contacts fitted. I really like dr hammonds but perhaps there are too many folks scheduled at the same time!!! I like eye care associates- but know you cannot correct something you are not aware of- thus my comments.

I LOVE Dr. Gina Scott She is by far the best Eye Dr. I have ever been to! The only thing I do not like is when I called to make my appointment and anytime you call the office now you get transferred to an answering service that makes you deal with them instead of contacting the office and dealing with the people I am familiar with and comfortable with. I do not like outsourcing the customer service - in my opinion that is one sure fire way to loose business! When someone can not call an office that they have been going to for years and speak with one of their trusted employees and have to speak with a person in another state that has no clue who is on the phone and at first told me that there was no Dr. Scott in that office. I was not happy! I will continue to go to Dr. Scott because she is the best- but If I did not have the loyalty that I do towards her I would definitely find another eye care facility that did not outsource their customer service!

The person who was supposed to help me select frames did not pull one single frame off the rack. I was left on my own to do that. I found a frame that he liked and I kept asking for suggestions or other options but again he said he couldn't think of another frame for me to try. Perhaps the selection of frames in the store isn't adequate if only one frame will look good on my face OR more likely this person just wanted to go home for the day. I liked the frames but thought they were too big for my face but he insisted they were fine. I ended up purchasing these glasses and hate them. They are too big and in order to fit my head they are crushing my temples. I love Dr Casey Brown but not happy with the lack of assistance I got with selecting frames. Now I'm stuck with glasses I hate for the next 2 years. Ugh.Mostly Satisfied6

I enjoyed every second of my appointment. The front desk staff was so nice, and I waited literally 10 minutes before being seen. Amber did my cover and visual acuity tests and was the nicest person on the planet. I legitimately want to be her friend in real life. Dr. St. Peter is fantastic. He's kind and fun and so knowledgeable. I was sad when my exam was over and I had to leave. I'm counting down the days until my frames come in so I can go back in.

I would have liked to have walked out with my written prescriptions. I know you want me to buy from you so you make more money, but I should have the freedom of choice, the opportunity to explore my options. I was not given that! Even thought the staff and doctor were excellent, not given the freedom to explore my purchasing options could deter me from returning to your practice in the future.

This was my first visit at EyeCare Associates. The staff was very friendly in assisting with the onboarding paperwork and check-in process. Dr. Winton is by far one of the best Optometrist I have encountered. He has a wonderful personality and did a great job explaining my vision problems. I would definitely recommend anyone to this location.
